Industry Week at RomaFictionFest, which includes RomaTvPitching andRomaTvScreenings, will take place at LUMSA. Industry Week is organized by RomaFictionFest, and is promoted by Regione Lazio, APT (Associazione Produttori Televisivi) and the Rome Chamber of Commerce in collaboration with Mediaset, Raitrade, Sky Italia and ICE (Italian Trade Commission).
The upcoming third edition of the RomaFictionFest will feature the debut of a new appointment: the RomaTvScreenings, an event dedicated to Italian television drama. The event, organised in collaboration with Italian producers, broadcasters and distributors, will take place on July 6-7 and is aimed at the programming managers and schedulers of the most important international networks. The RomaTvScreenings aim at establishing a direct dialogue with the networks’ key players who are interested in widening their knowledge on Italian television drama productions, which in recent years have reached both diversity and quality-wise, particularly significant standards.
Once again, the Festival’s most important ingredient is creative talent: producers, screenwriters and directors will bring their new ideas and projects to test them in this international “marketplace of ideas”, the RomaTvPitching. The aim of the RomaTvPitching Competitionis that of bringing together producers and potential partners for their projects. Three Pitching sessions have been scheduled for July 8, 9 and 10, 2009. The Best Overall Pitch will receive an award to be presented at the Closing Ceremonies of the RomaFictionFest on July 11, 2009. Italian and international producers will also have the opportunity to meet one-on-one with commissioning editors and other drama experts during the Speed Dating sessions.
The RomaTvScreenings and the RomaTvPitching (Pitching & Speed Dating Competition) will take place at the industry village, a spacious and attractive pavilion set up inside the LUMSA building, adjacent to Castel Sant’Angelo. The village, open July 6-10, will feature a series of private stands dedicated to Italian production companies. All the key players from the international field of television (broadcasters, heads of drama, commissioning editors, programmers, schedulers, distributors and international financiers) will be given the chance to meet face-to-face with the people directly involved in the production of television drama.
The industry section of the RFF is promoted by the Lazio Region, the APT (Television Producers Association), the Rome Chamber of Commerce, in collaboration with Mediaset, Raitrade, Sky, Fox Italia and Ice (Italian Institute for Foreign Trade).
