  • Synopsis

Marco Blasetti is a brilliant and cynical editor. He has a pretty and sophisticated girlfriend, and a comfortable and satisfying life. At least, that’s what it looks like. He also wrote a book called, “How to Write a Novel and Get It Published” and travels around Italy for readings. But the southern city of Bari will be his last stop. Here he meets an attractive and bizarre girl. Her eyes shine under the rain of the night. The girl has written a novel, or better half a novel. She gives Marco her manuscript after his reading. “For the last year, I’ve been a whore. I am a Law School graduate and my father thinks I’m studying to become a judge”. These are the first words of the novel. He reads it, and his world turns upside down.

Anna Negri was born in Venice. At 18 she moved to Paris where she worked as an Assistant Director, among others with Nagisa Oshima. She then studied at the Arts Academy of Groningen (Holland) and graduated in Film at the London College of Printing in 1991, eventually earning a Masters Degree in Film Direction at the Royal College of Art in 1993. In England she made her first short films that won many awards at international festivals and started working for television. In 1998 she came back to Italy to make her feature debut, In principio erano le mutande selected for the Berliner in ‘99. Ever since, Anna has been working in Italy, as a writer and director for both Film&TV productions, also as a screenwriter.
