  • Synopsis
  • Director

"Il falco e la colomba" is a tale about passion and court intrigues. It's a love story. It's Giulio and Elena's story. Based on Stendhal's novella "The Abbess of Castro", DAP Italy brings to life a violent yet rich page in Italian and European history. The story takes place in Rome and its surroundings. Elena is the object of the attention of two men, a powerful prince and Giulio, an army captain under the
claimant to Pope Clement VII pontifical throne. Their adventures will impact on the alliances with the King of France and Emperor Charles V, and embrace figures such as those of Michelangelo Buonarroti, Vittoria and Pompeo Colonna or events like the Sack of Rome perpetrated by the Landsknechts.

An Italian-American screenwriter and director, he was born in Brussels on April 3, 1962 where he graduated in Political Sciences and International Relations with honours. He worked as a screenwriter for various American productions, like TV series " A Song from the Heart" for CBS starring Keith Carradine. In 2000 he directed the feature The Good War starring Roy Scheider and Luca Zingaretti. Then, thanks to Goffredo Lombardo from Titanus, he directed his first Italian series "Orgoglio". He directed three seasons of "Orgoglio" and then went on to shoot the mini-series "Senza via d'uscita" starring Massimo Ranieri and Anna Galiena, "Gente di mare 2" and "Il bene e il male" with Gian Marco Tognazzi. He lives in Los Angeles with his wife LaDon and his son Johnny Sinclair.
